And.... I'm finally PREGNANT!

It has taken many 16 months of trying to conceive another baby and it finally happened for us just when we were least expecting it.  I'll be 12 weeks along, this Friday and due April 16, 2010.

Terry and I had come to the conclusion that this was probably not going to happen for us.  We had been trying for over a year and we were mentally exhausted.  It was apparent that it was going to be just the three of us and we were getting used to the idea, but then, I started feeling off.  I started feeling a little under the weather, and I was already 6 weeks along when I figured it out.

We are stoked!  Camryn is telling our friends before we get a chance to.  "I'm going to be a big sister!" she says.  Super cute!

Leanne & Kurt are Hitched!

On this past Saturday, Sept. 19/09, my baby sister Leanne got married to her long time boyfriend, Kurtis Beard. The Steel-Beard wedding went off without a hitch. Check out this link for some gorgeous photographs from Natalie Gielens Photography!

Ziplining - Whistler 2009

I planned a stagette weekend for my baby sister for August 28 - 30, 2009 in Whistler, BC. I must say, "It was AWESOME!"

Ziplining was our drug of choice and it was sure a high. High up in the trees that is. Check me out, on our last zipline. Our tree trekking professionals told us all to go upside down, and needless to say, we welcomed the challenge.

I can't wait to do it again soon! :)

City Girl

On the weekend we went to Second Beach (Vancouver) for some relaxing time in the sand. Not that I really like sand all that much. It gets in every crack or crevass for that matter and takes forever to get out of your hair. Gross! Our time at the beach was, however, very relaxing. We walked, talked, chased birds, and played at the park. It had been way too long since I had taken the trek to Vancouver and I sure do miss it. Despite being completely over-priced to live, it's gorgeous! I am definitely a "CITY" girl.
I wonder sometimes what it would be like to live in a small town, where everyone knows you and your business. Where everything is close by or far away depending on what you are looking to do. It's not really my cup of tea but I have thought about it. With the event of Terry, losing his job, I have really had to put life into perspective. What is want, what is a need? What will happen if Terry gets a job in another city, or another country for that matter? We did come to the conclusion that wherever God had planned for us to go, we would go. No matter what. The possibilities are endless, when you think about it, and something could come up for him that is a great opportunity and who I am to stand in the way for what is planned for us. It's not that I really WANT to move away in any way, shape or form, but I feel content with the possibility I guess.
I am very thankful that the process for Terry in becoming a police officer is going quite smoothly. He just completed the PARE exam (physical aspect) of the RCMP process and passed with flying colours. He knocked 40 seconds off his time from the first time he tested it out a few weeks ago. I am so proud of him for working so hard to get there. This weekend he will have to do the Abbotsford physical exam and we are praying for him. I will be happy with whatever location he is accepted with, Abbotsford or some other community. It is a complete 360 from what he had originally trained to do as a career but that is how this life works for us. If it's not in God's plan for us, it will not happen.
We ARE taking each day as it comes and trying, with great effort, to be patient in what lies ahead for us.

Splashdown

We got a phone call last night with an invitation to come to Splashdown Waterpark with my hubby's brother and his family. Of course, we jumped at the chance and made our preparations.

I had no expectation that Camryn would attempt to go down anything bigger than the little kid slides but she exceeded my zero expectations with awesome enthusiasm. With her cousins, auntie & uncle supporting her, she went down the adult slides like a pro (with an adult of course). Not to mention my nephew, who also went down the adult slides as excited as ever to be going so fast.

They did AWESOME and I am so proud of them both.

My little niece did awesome too! If you can believe it, she went down one of the adult slides too! So super cute.

Just because...

It has been quite crazy the last few weeks but I thought I would post a picture from this summer at the lake. Camryn is getting to be quite the swimmer and enjoying every minute she spends in the water. Probably because it is SOOOO Hot outside! And I say "Hot" with a capital "H" because of the temperatures the lower mainland have reached, it deserves it.

Since the Summer of 2009 has started I have begun taking care of my niece and nephew once a week, and I have some pictures to post a later date. As well, my Grandma Steel has passed away on July 27, 2009, so once again, I apologize for the lack of posts due to this crazy time.

Please pray for my immediate and extended family to do their best with this great loss.

What do you say?

So Grandma & Auntie Courtney were asking Camryn a few questions and you wouldn't believe what she said.

Grandma: "Do you want a dog?"

Camryn: "No."

A. Courtney: "Do you want a kitty?"

Camryn: "No. I want a baby sister!"

Can you believe it? I guess I better get to work. Poor thing! I really hope I can give her what she wants.
